Winter Shipping Instructions

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and on making the choice to have your flowers, Evermore!

Help your flowers arrive in the best condition possible by following the instructions and guidelines below.  It is really helpful to get the supplies ahead of time to set aside and designate someone to help with shipping your flowers out if needed.

Please remove any florals you wish to keep back for yourself or any heirloom pieces that might be in your bouquet that you do not wish to include in your preservation.

 Flower Care

Day of: Keep flowers hydrated as much as possible throughout the day and if possible, keep hydrated in a vase during the reception. Don’t toss your bouquet, have a smaller one made if you need to, but this will bruise the delicate petals and hinder the condition of the flowers.

Next day: Give the ends a quick snip under running water and place in a vase with flower food, fresh cool water, and out of direct sunlight until you are ready to ship.

During travel for drop off: Consider putting the bouquet and vase in a box surrounded by packing paper for stability.

Shipping Instructions

It is recommended that you ship your flowers as soon as possible after your wedding and to use UPS or Fed X to ship overnight.

Supplies (It is recommended to get the supplies ahead of time and set aside.)

  • One insulated shipping box that will fit your bouquet OR

one packing box for your bouquet and one larger shipping box for your bouquet box to go in for insulation.

  • Smaller box (like a square kleenex sized box) to stabilize your bouquet

  • Index card

  • Black sharpie marker

  • Tissue Paper or Packaging Paper (No Plastic)

  • A thicker packing paper like newspaper

  • Packing Tape

  • 2 Full Squares of Paper Towel

  • Scissors

  • Plastic Baggie

  • 3 Rubber Bands

  • Bubble wrap

  • Shipping Heat Packs (buy them here)

.01 Trim

Give the ends of your flowers a fresh snip about 1/2 in up the stems at a 45-degree angle.

**More of the stem may need to be removed to fit your box.

**If your flowers have a bouquet form in the center you can either remove the stems from it yourself and proceed with the instructions or rehydrate the floral foam and tuck the cold pack in as best as you can. Then, secure and cover with the plastic bag and proceed to gently wrap your flowers with tissue paper or paper packaging.

.02 Hydrate

  • Layer the two squares of paper towel on top of each other and dampen well.

  • Slightly wring excess water and fold layered paper towels into a triangle.

.03 Wrap

  • Lay the paper towel down with the point of the triangle facing you and then lay the flowers on the paper towel, stems facing you.

  • Fold the point up over them stems and wrap the sided around the stems.

  • Use a rubber band to secure in place.

  • Wrap the paper towel covered stems with the two cold packs.

  • Place the paper towel wrapped stems and cold pack inside the plastic baggie and secure with a rubber band.

  • Wrap the tissue paper or packing paper gently around the blooms of the flower to make somewhat of a wrapped bouquet.

  • Add another layer of wrap in the same fashion with newspaper.

.04 Pack

Important! Please do not use plastic or plastic like cushion/ bubble wrap to pack your flowers. Doing so will cause rapid decay . Instead be sure to use a paper product such as tissue paper, newspaper, or packing paper that will allow your flowers to breathe.

  • Open your heat pack to begin warming and set aside.

  • Using the smaller box, fit the wrapped stems inside. This acts as a stabilizer to help hold your flowers upright.

  • Then, place the bouquet and smaller box into the larger box standing up and place a good cushion of tissue paper or packing paper around the base of the smaller box to stabilize it.

  • **Packing flowers vertically is ideal and helps to minimize pressure and bruising on the petals during transportation, but it can be packed horizontally if needed. To do this, skip the use of the smaller box and make a bed of paper cushion on the bottom of a long box that will fit your bouquet, lay the flowers down horizontally and then continue on with the rest of the instructions.

  • Gently continue to tuck in newpaper around your bouquet to fill in any negative space in the large box.

  • When you get to the top of the bouquet, crumple a few pieces of tissue paper and gently flatten them and lay them on the top of your bouquet along with another layer of newspaper to help protect against bruising and to insulate.

  • Add an index card with your name and phone number on it and lay on top of the last layer of tissue paper.

  • Wrap your heat pack with newspaper and secure well to the inside top of your box with packing tape. We don’t want this to touch the petals, so be sure there is space between the two.

  • Close and secure package with tape.

  • Pack your bouquet box into your shipping box and fill negative space between the two boxes with bubble wrap.

  • Close and secure with packing tape.

  • Mark “This Side Up” on all sides with the black sharpie.
