Air Dried Bouquet
The air dry floral bouquet option is perfect for brides who love a vintage and antiqued look. This can be your plan straight out the gate, or a bouquet you have been hanging onto that you want to protect. Below are the instructions for drying, packing, and shipping your air dried bouquet.
Supplies needed:
Drying-
Rubber band
large Paper Clip
Hanger
Packing and shipping-
Tissue paper
Packing material
Box that will fit your bouquet
Shipping box big enough to fit your bouquet box
Instructions
Drying:
Step 1.Take your bouquet and wrap a rubber band around the bottom. You may need to take your bouquet apart and separate into 2 or 3 sections (depending on the size of your bouquet ) and rubberband each one. We want the flowers to be able to get air between them so they do not mold.
Step 2.Extend the paper clip so it form a hook on each end and hook the rubber band on the bouquet to one end. Then, hook the other end of the paper clip to your hanger.
Step 3.Hang in a cool dry place for a minimum of 3 weeks until your flowers are completely dry.
Packing and Shipping:
Step 1. Start by removing your bouquet from drying and gently wrapping it in several layers of tissue paper. Gently place the bouquet into a plastic grocery bag.
Step 2. Create a “nest” in your shipping box and place your bouquet on top. Fill in the remaining negative space with packing material. The idea is to not make it too tight because the petals are fragile, but we want as little movement as possible to happen during the shipping process.
Step 3. Close up your box and tape shut with packaging tape. Mark “fragile” or use “fragile stickers” on all sides as well as “this side up”.
